Our Story

Amy Easterling has spent 18 years practicing law in Tennessee, and her path into private practice wasn't a straight line, it was shaped by years standing on the other side of the courtroom. As a prosecutor with the Second and Third Judicial District Attorney's Offices, Amy handled cases across the full spectrum of severity, from traffic offenses to serious felonies, including homicide, working across General Sessions, Juvenile, and Criminal Courts. That range gave her a rare, complete view of how the Tennessee legal system actually functions at every level, knowledge that now directly benefits the clients she represents in private practice, whether they're navigating a contested divorce or defending against a misdemeanor charge.

Beyond the courtroom, Amy founded the Vulnerable Adult Protective Team, an initiative dedicated to investigating and addressing abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of elderly and vulnerable adults. She also worked closely with the Children's Investigative Protective Team, partnering with law enforcement and child services to pursue justice on behalf of children who couldn't advocate for themselves. This work shaped something fundamental in how Amy now practices law: an unwavering belief that behind every case, every file, and every legal dispute is a real person whose situation deserves to be taken seriously, not processed like paperwork on the way to the next hearing.

After years in prosecution, Amy transitioned into private practice, bringing that same rigor, along with a deeply personal commitment to compassionate representation, to families and individuals across East Tennessee facing family law and misdemeanor criminal matters. That transition wasn't about leaving the fight behind, it was about redirecting years of courtroom experience toward representing the people who need it most directly: individuals and families navigating the hardest chapters of their own lives.
